This is a nicely executed watercolor of a cathedral on the banks of a river, identified by an old pencil inscription on the reverse as "At Mantes on the Seine". An original black ink drawing of a Native American Indian stalking a herd of bison. He hides behind a bush, his bow resting behind him, his fringed arrow quiver at the ready. The drawing is nearly square, at 9 1/2" by 9 1/4" (14 1/4" by 14 1/4" in black simple framing). There is a Reno, Nevada framer's label remaining on the backing, but no other information. Old circa 1950 painting on board of the majestic Grand Canyon in Arizona, apparently unsigned, measuring 17 3/4" by 22", plus pleasingly old patterned frame, 1 3/4" wide on a side. Judging from the scenes, these are likely Northern European and of late nineteenth century date. Condition is excellent, one frame has a little nick at top right. Some research may help determine the identity of the artist.
