Circa late 19th century watercolor painting, probably American, 9 1/2" by 13" (16" by 19 1/4" framed), unsigned, featuring distant high snowy peaks behind a foreground lake. This was found in California and could be a scene of the American west. More than likely, it is by a listed artist---who neglected to sign his or her work. There is some edge browning from the mat, otherwise the work is in excellent condition considering its obvious age.

A very decorative and beautifully painted oil on canvas of a black woman's head in profile, a focal point being the finely painted pearl earring near the center of the composition, signed at lower left "GRAHAME" dated there 87, and with title on stretcher "Le Pendentif" (The Pendant). Note the artistic license the artist has taken with his interpretation of the hair area. This is a very unusual and unique work, 23 1/4" by 18 3/4", (39 3/4" by 28" framed), in tempera or similar medium on board, signed at lower right by artist G. W. Harris and dated 1992. Difficult to describe, I would say it is a compilation of themes relating to the Harlem area of Manhattan, home to African-American culture for decades. Unframed oil on paper on board painting of a desert Southwest landscape, 8 1/2" by 12", signed at lower right M. Edwards. The painting probably dates to the 1920's or 1930's I would guess. It has accumulated a lot of soiling and varnish has yellowed, so it desperately needs a cleaning. Note the left extreme edge, which must have been behind a frame, to get some idea of the potential after cleaning. Etching of a young woman in dreamy sleep, 11 1/2" by 8 1/2" (14 3/4" by 11 3/4" simply framed), titled in the plate "Die Rosen", signed in the plate and again in the margin below in pencil by the German-born artist OTTO GOETZE (1868-1945). The artist's name is also sometimes spelled "Goetz" and some cite a death date of 1931. Goetze was born in Germany and was in San Francisco by 1930.
