A work of fine calligraphy that stands on its own as a work of art, the drawing in watercolor, and gouache/tempera, with a reflective gold paint applied in small diamond shapes, by Southern California contemporary calligrapher artist CAROL HICKS. The work measures 8" by 11" (12 3/4" by 15 3/4" in gold frame). Close examination reveals a wonder of lettering, and even a pattern of finger-like branching three dimensional paint. Hicks stamped the backing with her West Hills, California address...

Signed pencil drawing of a man, from mid-chest up, signed at lower right somewhat indecipherably---the name looks like "Inda (Linda?) Turtle" but that is likely not the actual name. The piece measures 13 1/4" by 10 1/2" inside the mat and 21 1/2" by 18 1/8" framed. Condition appears to be excellent. Allow for reflections especially at top in some of the images.

This one is hard to describe....but I will start somewhere. It is an oil on canvas work, unframed, 24" by 24", with no signature on the front, and only "SARAH W." on the overlap giving any possible indication as to who painted this. A green eye within a triangular window in to a human face stares at the viewer, Magritte-like, as the face of a young black child stares from the lower right corner, as a complex pair of intertwined figures at lower left make for arresting and dream-like imagery...

This is an original, not a copy. Ironically this: "Birches and Sunny Skies" was painted on a dark, gloomy New England day. Note the lone bird in flight. 2008 new clients, preferred repeat clients, art collectors who collect this artist's work, collectors who have left testimonial feedbacks and Trocadero dealers, all who have acquired pieces from www.mimideearwear.com have been mailed hand written, hand addressed greeting cards with a reduced print of this...

Somewhat reminiscent of Wayne Thiebaud's paintings of California's tangled freeways, this is an ink drawing with touches of white gouache, 8 1/2" by 11" (13 3/4" by 15 3/4" as professionally mounted and framed in a light ashy wood), signed at lower left and dated there "Aug '01"by noted, recently deceased California artist ZOLITA SVERDLOVE (1936-2009). Colorful drawing of fruit and a vase of flowers on a table, 20" by 24" framed, signed at lower right "Laurel Scherer". The drawing is beautifully executed by a sure hand, in what appears to be oil crayon or similar medium. I don't see a listing for an artist by this name so will offer this on its decorative merits. Condition is excellent. This colorful, vigorous drawing will look great in a dining area or large kitchen.

An ORIGINAL mixed media color caricature drawing of iconic entertainer Madonna, 6 1/4" by 8 1/2" (11" by 13" in present silvery framing), signed at lower right by the obviously highly talented contemporary artist who goes by the fashionably anonymous moniker "14". The work is in pencil, gouache, and color crayon. Madonna is shown with colored blonde hair that extends out quite too far on both sides, and there is the suggestion of her being less-than-young. The artist is associated with the we...
