This portrait of a young girl is carried out masterfully. She is facing left and signed Alexander Mueller , 1902. She is pastel on paper, 17 1/2 by 12 7/8 matted and framed. See a reference in "German American Artists in Early Milwaukee" by Peter Merrill. His paintings go at auction for $8000 and up.
Amedeo Modigliani, Livorno, Italy, 1884- 1920. This beautiful Cariatide is oil pencil on tan paper, apprx 16.5"H by 11.5"W, signed upper left " a Paul Modigliani", Verso original Modigliani Studio card, Gallery Bernard card and original Description label. Condition: paper laid on cardboard, edges fraying and some fading. It is likely that this is a drawing used in Modigliani's studio and that the Paul is Paul Alexander

Barnard/1933.” The young man with brown hair and eyes wearing an open necked white shirt leans into the picture plane with a sense of youthful eagerness. Elinor Barnard (1872-1942) was born and studied in the UK, but worked mostly in the USA, principally New York City. She has a relaxed and economical style. Sight size 16 3/8 by 12 ¼ inches. Featuring a wonderful pencil drawing of most probably a European woman by Charles P. Gruppe, the father of Emil Gruppe. Unusual original artistic rendition of the Carowinds theme park (NC/SC) by Randall Duell (American architect and art director, 1903-1992), circa 1969-1970. An unsigned watercolor on heavy textured white drawing paper of corn ricks and pumpkins on a gentle slope with blue sky above and hills in the distance. It is well executed with the focus carried to the rick in the front by the use of details there and looser painting in other parts of the watercolor. The bowl done on the backside of the page also shows the artists quality. The bowl seems to clearly indicate that the work was done in the earlier part of the 20th century...
