The city is spread around the bell tower at right center, as a sailing craft plies the middle distance and what appears as a lobster trap is in the foreground...

A work signed at lower right, of the noted Bermudian artist ALFRED BIRDSEY (1912-1996), the full sheet measuring 19 1/2" by 24" (26 1/2" by 31 1/2" framed behind glass). Birdsey was a familiar figure in Bermuda for decades, a prolific artist, the works of whom traveled home with tourists to the island. This would account for the wide distribution of his distinctive work. Today his daughter continues the family tradition, with similar looking paintings being sold to visitors...

A watercolor on paper 10 1/2" by 21 1/4" (21" by 33" in blue laminate framing) featuring a tropical dock scene replete with coconut palms, a small sailing craft, and boathouse, signed at lower right with what appears as "Ehrlich". I have not been able to link an obvious listed artist name to this work. The hand is sure and talented and the piece is in excellent fresh condition.

A well-executed old watercolor (and a little gouache) painting of roses, glass vases and a Chinese blue-white plate, circa 1930, signed by artist ADELAIDE STRIGNER. Strangely, despite the quality of the work, I have not located a name of a listed known artist that would correspond. The piece measures 11 1/2" by 20" inside the mat and 21 3/4" by 30 1/2" in its period frame, which has some chip losses especially at right. There is an inconsequential old cut in the paper at upper right field...

This example measures 15" by 14" inside the mat and 26 1/2" by 25 1/2" in its wood frame. Phillips was born in Fresno and studied art beginning in the 1940's in San Francisco. A prolific and talented watercolorist, his works were sold in galleries throughout Northern California...

Three small works offered together, all by listed California artist TERESA (TESS) RAZALLE-CARTER (1888-1972). Circa first third of the 20th century, or maybe earlier, very colorful watercolor on paper of a busy street scene in Napoli (Naples, southern Italy), 22 1/2" by 12 1/2" framed, signed at lower left by artist G. CANO. I count at least 10 figures in the composition, and one burro, complementing the hanging laundry, flowers, and ancient facades. This was likely a piece made for the tourist trade, by a talented artist. The colors are very intense and the condition excellent...
