A fine example of the Drypoint work of French artist Jacques VIllon. The title of this work is :"L'Epingle A Chapeau", the hat pin. This image was created and printed in 1909. The image is editioned lower left as 12/20. A rare image. The drypoint measures 15X12 inches, printed on a medium weight, watermarked, laid type paper. very fine condition, a rich impression showing a velvet burr of ink throughout the figure. This drypoint is clearly signed in pencil by the artist lower right border.

A color print of the year 1932, issued by Frost and Reed of Bristol and London, titled "Going Out at Epsom", after a painting by the famous English equestrian artist ALFRED JAMES MUNNINGS (1878-1959), measuring 20" by 19 3/4" inside the existing linen mat and 31" by 30 1/2" in the wood framing. The print is NOT pencil signed. Munnings is perhaps the pre-eminent painter of all things horses, at least among 20th century artists...

Lithograph print of two little sisters, printed by Associated American Artists at mid century, signed in pencil at lower right by the popular, listed Sicilian-born artist JEAN CALOGERO (1922-2001). The print, 14" by 9 5/8" (19" by 15" framed), dates likely to the 1950's or 1960's. Calogero's colorful oils of children, and mysterious fantasy scenes including masks and Surrealist elements, are familiar to art lovers. This print has some paper browning but otherwise appears clean.

John Henry Hill, American, 1839-1922, "Two Men in a Sailboat in a Rough Sea". This is an atmospheric marine etching by J. Henry Hill, after the painting by Otis Weber. The image measures 14 1/2 x 18 1/2 inches, published in 1886 by Klackner, New York, pencil signed on the lower right margin. Hill came from a family of artists and became a well known landscape and marine painter keeping with the pre-raphaelite tradition, influenced by John Ruskin and David Johnson.

An example of the desirable original Currier & Ives lithograph print of 1864, "The U.S. Sloop of War 'Kearsarge' 7 Guns, Sinking the Pirate "Alabama" 8 Guns, measuring 9 1/2" by 12 1/2", plus gray 20th century frame about 5/8" wide. There is hand coloring of the blue sea, blue of the flag, and a little yellow and pink hue in the explosion on the foreground ship...
