Contemporary jadeite carving of a fairy spirit named Liu-Hai. His right hand is holding a three legged frog called ¡°Chan¡±; a string of clouds extends from Chan¡¯s mouth. On the back of the carving is a large fan and on the top of the fan sits a lucky bat. Very interesting carving in good condition.

From our Southeast Asia Collection, a good Thai repousse silver box with burlwood lining, depicting the Thai and Burmese kings in battle during the sixteenth century. Sourced directly from Chiang Mai Thailand in 1990, this is a substantial box of good quality silver. The exterior has been allowed to patinate for 20 years and has taken on the usual dark grey patina typical for sterling silver, but the interior is completely pristine as it has never actually been used...

A fine bronze animalier sculpture by Ferdinand Pautrot (1832-74). The figure represents a pair of songbirds, one of which has caught a fly in its mouth. The other bird appears to be contemplating the possibility of wresting the insect from his companion. Both birds are perched on the rocky ground typical of Pautrot's work. An upright flowering plant appears at one end of the composition. Along with Mène and Moigniez, Pautrot was considered the be France's finest sculptor of animal figures...
This highly detailed and finely sculpted totem form bronze features the famous Wise Monkeys - see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. It stands on a plinth with stacking monkeys, the highest of which is holding a basket which we believe is an incense burner. There are no markings, occasional small and minor blemishes, and a pack of clay in the underside which the previous owner may have used for ballast though it seems not to require any...

A fine cold-painted Vienna bronze eagle of the highest quality and unusually large size. The painted decoration is wonderfully complex and detailed. The bronze is marked "Austria" under the tail feathers. We have seen this exact bronze with Franz Xavier Bergmann marks.
Origin: Austria, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, only the faintest paint nicks are the tips of a few features and beak. Dimensions: 9-1/4" x 6-1/2" x 5-1/4" high.
Fine Tibetan antique bronze figure with traces of red orange paint. The sculpture shows Vajradhara ( Manjushri), in his tantric aspect in embrace with his consort, Shakti, in a position of sexual union known as Yab-Yum literally Father-Mother in Tibetan and Maithuna in Sanscrit.
