Fine Art Nouveau "L'Etang" (The Pond) Jardiniere featuring frolicking children, circa 1890's. Well cast sculpture by one of the most highly regarded artists working in France in the Art Nouveau Era. A similar example is pictured in The Paris Salons-vol. V, page 369. This is an unusual example by Larche, well known for his design of The Loie Fuller lamp. Original marble sculpture by Theodor Mallener (Czech, 1892-1978). Mallener is a Czech sculptor born in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia. He apparently spent part of his life in Germany, where he died (Schwabmunchen, Bavaria) in 1972. He is listed mainly in Czech sources. There was also a sculptor named Mallener who worked in Vienna for the Goldscheider Factory in the early part of the century who may or may not be the same artist. This sculpture is signed Th. Contemporary jadeite carving of a fairy spirit named Liu-Hai. His right hand is holding a three legged frog called ¡°Chan¡±; a string of clouds extends from Chan¡¯s mouth. On the back of the carving is a large fan and on the top of the fan sits a lucky bat. Very interesting carving in good condition.

Cavaillon was born in Nimes and studied at the Beaux Arts in Paris. He was a member of the "bande a Schnegg" with a number of other sculptors like Despiau and Pompon with whom he exhibited. Well listed and collected.
a superb corpus christi from leuven in belgium elongated face typical of this workshop .the treatment of blood drops is typical also .With its elongated face, thin locks of hair and long nose, the present Corpus is most likely to have originated in Louvain, where this type of face appears frequently.
