Jiro Yonezawa attended the Beppu Vocational Arts Training Center in 1981 and spent a year as an apprentice to Masakazu Ono. Later on, he continued his training at the Oita Prefectural Beppu Industrial Art Research Institute. He lived and worked in the United States from 1989 to 2007. In 2008 he returned to Japan and built a new studio in Oita Prefecture...

Large terracotta sculpture we named "Leaf Tree Man". The body is stylized tree bark with a green glaze wash. By West Coast artist Dirk Dahl, the statue is signed by the artist and in excellent condition. Measures 24 inches high, 16" long. Weighs about 18 lbs.

A very fine example. An unusual type- not the usual Shan, Mandalay, or Mon. Unsure exactly what tribal group this is from, but it has one of the nicest faces I have seen on a Burmese Buddha in some time.

Rare bronze shishi statue by renaissance artist/potter, Tsukigata Nahiko. This solid and impressive bronze is well sculpted with wonderful details and prominently signed on the rear depicting the "god of wealth or household", Daikoku with his mallet and bag of plenty, one of the Seven Lucky Gods but cleverly represented by a shishi, lion dog which Tsukigata used in a number of his bronze sculpture...
A superb marble bust of a young woman made by acclaimed Italian sculptor Lot Torelli (1835-1896).
Lot Torelli, born in Florence, was recognized in his time and was the recipient of several awards among which the Cross of Gold at the International Exhibition in London. He was often commissioned to sculpt portraits and funeral monuments.
This particular bust comes with a wooden stand onto which fits a stone stand...
