His face with deep serene expression, downcast eyes, arched eyebrows, elongated earlobes. His hair arranged in tight curls over the ushnisha. A gray soapstone carving of a blubbery walrus, measuring roughly 8" by 2" by 2". These carvings, which make great paperweights, sold as tourist art in northern, Arctic regions of Canada at mid century remain popular, and a secondary market has evolved. The artist has reduced the familiar animal to a stylized, modern form. Condition is good with no chips. See several other similar works in my shop.

Wonderful white marble owl sculpture by Canadian Inuit artist Lukta Qiatsuk. Sculpture measures 13.5" high, on stand measures 15" high. Comes with complete documentation which includes a postage stamp that he designed for the Canadian government. Purchased August 3, 1995.

Exquisite and very rare 15/16th Century AVA Disciple from Burma, holding an alms bowl, very gentle, calm and serene expression. Patina reveals some pigment remnants, sandstone of redish-brown-terracotta color.
