A very fine example. An unusual type- not the usual Shan, Mandalay, or Mon. Unsure exactly what tribal group this is from, but it has one of the nicest faces I have seen on a Burmese Buddha in some time.

The sculpture measures 16" high, approximately 19" from end of board to tip of horses nose, and the wood base is 13 1/4" x 4 1/4". A fine cold-painted Vienna bronze eagle of the highest quality and unusually large size. The painted decoration is wonderfully complex and detailed. The bronze is marked "Austria" under the tail feathers. We have seen this exact bronze with Franz Xavier Bergmann marks.
