Terrific vintage Christmas ornament fashioned from a papier-mache bell turned into a house. A cotton batting Santa Claus with a composition face is attached to the side. Unmarked, but most likely Japanese. Circa 1930. Very good condition, a little of the paint missing from the hanger and some wear to the "feather" trees. 3-1/2" high.

Early German Halloween candy container featuring a composition black cat perched atop a red paperboard container. The bottom once had a stick-on label of some sort that scuffed up the paper, so there is no longer a “Made in Germany” mark, but this is clearly a German piece. The cat has tons of personality, from crossed eyes to a bright red mouth oddly shaped like human lips. MEEOW!

Fun lithographed tin Easter basket by Chein. The outside is decorated with scenes from nursery rhymes including "Little Bo Peep", "Hey Diddle Diddle" and "Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater". The bottom is marked with Chein's logo.

Originally, this carbine was a Robbins @ Lawrence Model - 1841 Contract Rifle, and its barrel and stock were shortened to adapt this weapon to calvery use. The R&L model 1841 rifle was a well made contract rifle on the market before the Civil War. Of the 15,000 rifles made for the U.S., 2000 rifles were stored in the Baton Rouge Arsenal before the war started. The Rifle was purchased by Ed Anthony in the early 1960's and he traded it to me for a rare Musket...
