In the mid-1800's, an unknown artist painted the face of a young Black boy in warm, soft colors, and unbeknown to the artist, forever immortalized the young boy's image! Since that time a variety of items were been produced in the image of the "Young Black boy with the Torn Hat" or "Johnny Griffin".
This very scarce piece is very much reminiscent of Johnny Griffin items with the exception of the intact, broad-rimmed hat on this piece versus the torn rim typically seen on all "named" Johnny...
What a find, how they have survived is incredible!!!

One of several aviation-related items in the shop, these are photographs of the famous Voyager aircraft over the Mojave desert and over a cloud deck, in test flights before its history-making flight in December 1986. One photo is autographed by Jeana Yeager, the other autographed by her as well as by Dick Rutan. Piloted by Rutan and Yeager, Voyager traveled around the world in 9 days, 3 minutes and 44 seconds...
Not quite sure how long this one will last, it still has all it's contents and unopened, however there is fair bit of wear, see pics and a few dents and eventually it may well open, so needs a final resting place and sit in someone's display cabinet!!!
