This is a real favorite of mine. A signed photograph of Rhode Island Reds Hockey team general manager, Lou Pieri(1897-1967). The inscription in ball point pen is a bit indistinct but reads " The Best RI Reds Team Ever Lou Pieri". I'm assuming these are the wives of the players. Pieri was an American basketball and ice hockey executive and coach( see Wikipedia for further information). The 8X10 B&W photo has some creasing and minor wear at the bottom and top edge; the frame shows some wear.

Here's an unusual item for the collector of early California art, illustration art, or baseball related art.......an ink on paper drawing showing President William Howard Taft throwing out the (first?) baseball......signed at center right and dated 1910, when the artist would have been 18 or 19 years old (some sources report his birth year as 1891). According to the Hughes biography, Grimm was born in South America and was already displaying talent in art at a tender age...
This is an unusual item of interest to the collector of baseball and World Series memorabilia: the first page of the Muncie, Indiana Evening Press newspaper dated October 7, 1919, detailing the minutiae of game six of the series of that year, one of the infamous "fixed" World Series games, including references to ("Shoeless") Joe Jackson and other scoundrels involved in one of the worst scandals in the history of professional sports. The paper is age-yellowed, but otherwise in good condition...
