Wonderful vintage 1940s hand-made sewing needle case of a little black girl with yellow bows in her braided hair and a pumpkin colored dress. Front of dress lifts up and there are two flaps for storing sewing needles. Very nicely made with fine detailing to face and hair construction--her little curls are tiny French knots. Excellent condition. Measures 6" long by 3" at the widest.
Super rare box, I have not seen another of these. I have left the protective plastic over it and box looks to be 100% intact.

This rarely found, 1937, tin, wind-up, DOUBLE JITTER-BUG Mechanical Dancing Toy was made by the Buffalo Toy & Tool Works. The Buffalo Toy & Tools Works was located in Buffalo, New York, and was established in 1924.
The toy is in very fine, working condition. When wound, the black dancers bob up and down, moving their hinged legs about and swinging their arms. The dancer's heads, bodies, and arms are constructed of flat tin, while their legs and feet are three dimensional...

Rare pair of African style black baby figurines made mid 20th century in Vienna, Austria. The tall sitting child is 2.5 inches high. The crawling child is 2.75" long. Stamped with "Hagenauer Wien", “Made in Austria", and "wHw“. Both in excellent condition and date circa 1950s.
Measuring 13 inches high, this delightful, hand-made, brother and sister pair of Black cloth dolls were made circa 1940's, by "Roxie" of Asheville, North Carolina, as attested to by the dollmaker's tag sewn on the brother's backside.
Both dolls are in near perfect condition with the exception of a tiny teardrop mark under brother's left eye and a tiny hole next to sister's left side of face on her hairline...

This great belt buckle is made of scrimshaw ivory with a great clipper ship nautical theme. It features a clipper ship and old boathouse. It measures 2 1/4" x 1 1/2". It is totally encased in sterling silver with a great design. The artist carved his intials at the bottom right - DC - and has the maker's mark on the back. Measuring 8.25 inches long, this vintage, Black Mammy Spoon rest was made in JAPAN in the 1950's. Along with its jolly, wide-eyed caricature, the spoon rest features a purple-colored tulip painted on both sides and reads “SPOONREST” in black lettering at the top of the Mammy's polka-dotted, purple headscarf. Note small "hanging hole" in back for display on the kitchen wall!
Very few of these pieces survive due to the high level of use they encountered...
