Antique, European gunpowder flask in a characteristic flattened form from the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries for a matchlock or wheel lock gun.

It consists of a curved pressed cow horn body with beveled edges and a wooden buttplate fitted with an oval iron plate secured with a brass domed pin.
