This wonderful vintage hospital sign from the 1920's once hung in a small central South Carolina hospital, as told by the 91 year old seller from whom it was purchased.

Taken right out of her sewing room where it had hung for decades on the wall, the black and gold sign, which is painted on a heavy particle-type board, has a very lovely, warm, aged patina. It was very difficult to photograph as the black background paint readily picked up the slightest light source...

The necks are sterling silver and they are fully hallmarked for London, England 1963. Original movie poster, 1963, for the film "The Stripper", starring then-young Joanne Woodward, and Robert Webber, Louis Nye, and Gypsy Rose Lee. The poster measures 39 1/2" by 26" (45" by 32" framed, behind easy-ship Plexi). There is hand-numbering at bottom right, "63/123", and I do not know what to make of that since this would been unlikely to have been printed in such a low edition...

This is a rather whimsical piece of Automobilia......a presentation to Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker, the World War I flying ace, at a special dinner in New York in 1924. The sheet inside the mat measures 11 1/2" by 17 1/2" ( 17 1/4" by 23 1/4" as framed). Written up in a humorous style, the note commends Rickenbacker for his flying victories and makes a number of humorous commentaries contemporary to the times, all referring to his then-budding career as an automobile manufacturer...

This is a very unique item........NOT a print! It is an original drawing in pastel and gouache on a soft old board, measuring 40" by 30" extreme dimensions. The subject is a lovely young Gloria Swanson in a classic 20's 'do, probably created for some kind of advertising purpose like a lobby card, poster, etc., although I haven't found any printed item corresponding to this particular work (though I haven't looked exhaustively)...

Oil on canvas, 36" by 24" and 3" frame, signed at lower right and dated 1978, by CRAIG KODERA (1956-2021), a life-long aviation enthusiast, and military and commercial pilot. Kodera grew up in Southern California and at one time worked as a commercial artist for McDonnell Douglas. The DC-10 and DC-9 aircraft of that manufacturer are present in this painting as well as a classic Cessna. Kodera's works are included in the permanent collection of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington...

This is one unusual painting.........40" by 57" (with frame a whopping 46 1/2" by 64"), oil on masonite, signed at lower right by HIGHLY IMPORTANT, INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED aviation artist R.G. (Robert Grant) Smith. This painting belongs in a museum, and I welcome institution inquiries. The subject is monumental.........the Douglas DC-8, DC-9 and DC-10 jet aircraft, flying in formation through puffy clouds...

A pastel portrait of Charlton Heston (1923-2008) and wife Lydia, signed and dated 1980 at lower right by the well listed African-American artist ARTIS LANE (1927-). The work was acquired at an estate sale held at the Heston home on Coldwater Canyon in Beverly Hills, California. The work, 24 1/2" by 18" (32" by 25 1/2" in quality gold leaf frame) was evidently commissioned by the Hestons, and it hung in their home for 35 years...

An example of a very scarce and desirable poster, issued in 1977 in Glendale, California, featuring a montage of images of Johnny Weissmuller (1904-1984), the actor who famously played the role of Tarzan in the series of movies between 1932 and 1948. Weissmuller signed in magic marker at lower center, and the piece is numbered 976/1500 at lower right. Weissmuller was an Olympic gold swimmer in the 1920's, and he brought the athletic physique to Hollywood, with lasting impact. He appeared in o...

Wynn was an American actor and comedian who started in Vaudeville in 1903 and moved on to the Ziegfeld Follies in 1914. An early 20th century reproduction print of famed Belle Epoque actress SARAH BERNHARDT (1844-1923), **HAND SIGNED/INSCRIBED** by her. The signature is in ink at lower right (guaranteed her original ink signature and not printed). The print is after the 1879 etching by artist Jules Bastien-Lepage. This print under magnification has the dot matrix confirming it is a reproduction and not an original etching. The value is in the autograph and inscription. Bernhardt of course was one of the most...

A portrait of Hollywood actress Natalie Wood (1938-1981), painted by an unknown artist, showing the artist as she would have appeared in the 1970's. The image shows a sultry Wood in her prime, staring at the viewer with her famous brown eyes. She is of course known for her roles in the films Miracle on 34th Street, Rebel Without a Cause (1955), West Side Story (1961) and Gypsy (1962), and she received Academy Award Best Actress nominations for her performances in Splendor in the Grass (1961) a...

The note reads "For Laura--/With love and all good wishes/from/Julie Andrews/"Mary Poppins". This is a black and white photo, 7 1/2" by 7", (10 1/4" by 9 1/4" as simply framed), signed by hand, in ink, at lower right "Nelson Eddy". I'm offering it simply as Hollywood or Nelson Eddy memorabilia, as after comparing the signature with others viewable on line, I feel it possible that this was not actually signed by him. Condition is excellent and this is ready to hang on your wall if you are a fan of this singer. Eddy's biography, found on line: "Nelson Ackerman Eddy (June 29, 1901 – ...
