A vintage gelatin silver photograph of a gate and the street beyond with people beyond at the town of Sidi Okba, Algeria. Identified in ink on the back. Rene Prouho (1879-1970) blue back stamp in the upper left corner. 11 5/8 x 9 ½ inches (29.5 x 24 cm). Unmounted.

Condition; very good, though the corners are bruised.

I would guess it dates from the 1930’s.

Condition; photo in good condition, though the contrast could be a little stronger. Mount discolored, some foxing and soiled along some edges.

A charming completely hand-drawn map of the South American continent, likely created by a school child at a time when geography was taught to youngsters, measuring 8 1/2" by 6 1/2" (19" by 15 1/2" in black strip modern framing). The age looks to be 19th century. The creator used a red-brown ink, and pencil underlying in some places. Note the cartouche at lower right, and the quaint term "Amazonia" and "Brasil" spelling. The map has been mounted in recent times...

This is a James William Shipler early historical photograph of the laying of the capstone of the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple, April 1892. The image area measures 6 1/2" by 9" and the entire piece with likely original turn of the century Victorian style frame is 14 1/2" by 16 1/2". Shipler (1849 - 1937), left McKeesport, Pennsylvania in 1887, seeking adventure in the great west.
