This striking chawan is a fine example of “Oni Shino” (carbon trap and natural ash glazing) that Tsukigata is so well-known for. Original Japanese print by well known artist Mayumi Oda (1941-present), titled "Let Wisdom Arise Within Us" (Blue) , number 23/100, and signed in pencil along the bottom. Wonderful depiction of a goddess wielding a sword while riding on the back of a growling fu lion, surrounded by large bouquets of peonies, the flower petals blown around her by mystic winds.

This is a wonderful vintage Japanese Raku style tea cup of Ohi ware, which was made about 50-60 years ago. The seal of 'Ohi' is stamped on the bottom. This tea cup has an amazing amber glaze.

The original wooden box is also included.

Ohi ware has become well known for its use of Ame-gusuri, or amber glaze. Being a Raku style, it was low-fired and is quite light and soft in the hands...

The fine crackled feldspar glazing of this Hagi composition contrasts nicely with the red ferrous clay of the base and the wrought silver globe resting atop. Along the lower half can be seen a geometric windowed pattern giving this incense burner a sense of dimensionality.

Legendary potter Miwa Kyuwa (1885-1981) has been credited with reviving the Hagi tradition of pottery after the war...

Vintage Japanese Tea Bowl of Kyo ware with laquered wooden box. This tea bowl was made around 50 years ago. The inside of the bowl is covered with gold glaze. Very rare.

Size: 7,7 cm height x 10,8 cm in diameter.

Antique Chinese porcelain waterpot handpainted in famille rose enamels on a white ground with peonies and prunus flowers with butterflies flying above. Glazed in white on the inside as well as the base. On the base is a four character Qianlong mark in overglaze blue surrounded by double borders.

Condition: Very good condition, no breaks or cracks

Pair of Chinese over-glaze iron red bowls outlining a design of peonies and lotus heads among leafy vines on the white ground on the outside and similarly decorated on the inside. The base glazed white with an under-glaze blue six character Daoguang mark surrounded in double blue circles.

Contemporary Japanese side table. Made with unusual, mixed hardwoods, creating a bold contrast of color and grains. Its tabletop is accented by lighter wood inlay "butterflies" to hold together the natural fissures of the wood. The second tier below is secured into each leg by mortise and tenon joinery.
