Smart-looking "No. 250 Coldseal" aluminum cocktail shaker by Kraftware, ca. 1946. The shape is very interesting, tapering from a narrow footed base to broader shoulders and a bell-shaped top. Great Art Deco figural cocktail shaker in the form of a milk can. The shaker is entirely hand made from soldered sheet copper. A similar shaker in silverplate is pictured in Visakay, but this is the only copper version we've seen. The cork-stoppered lid removes to reveal a removable metal strainer. The bottom is stamped "H.E. Wright Company/Boston, Mass.".

The beautiful green color did not show up well in the pictures. I think it is much prettier. Both sides of the sleeves are soiled at the bottom area (see Enlargement6). This type of fukusa is a cover placed over a gift at the time of a gift-giving ceremony such as "Yui-noh" which is prior to a wedding. A pair of cranes on the rocks by an ocean may symbolize the couple's long journey together. This beautiful shibori (tie-dye) is already cut to make a haori jacket. The skinny pieces under the arms are cut and attached by someone who knows what he is doing. It has not gone through Yunoshi, the process to stretch shibori using steam.
