Two charming little Art Déco sailor boys, one with a saxophone, the other playing a banjo, sitting. Unmarked except for incised numbers to one of the figurines, but probably modelled by Hungarian Wiener Werkstätte artist Maria Ráhmer in the 1930's. Height of the standing boy "5½/ 14 cm, of the sitting "3¾/ 9 cm. Condition: minor restoration to hair ends of both boys.

This fine china is the American Franciscan Ivy pattern. The dinner plate is 10 3/8" in diameter, embossed, and hand-painted under glaze. It was made by the Gladding, McBean & Company circa 1948

One dinner plate shows very little crazing and the other shows the crazing in the bottom of the plate. Pictures 2 and 3 show the back stamps for each of these plates. These plates retail for $29.95 each.

A classic Art Deco porcelain water jug advertising Ricard Anisette. In the south of France, tradition dictates that Ricard and other anise-flavored spirits be drunk with a side of water. Makers such as Ricard and Pernod provided advertising pitchers to local bars to increase their sales. This globe form is the classic shape from the first half of the 20th century. The bottom is marked “Ateliers de Céramique Ricard/Made in France”.

Very large unusual footed bowl by Roger Guerin (Belgium, 1896-1954), circa 1920-1930. Signed "Guerin" (signature #9 in "Sel et Feu") and incised 160/D for glaze and form. Salt fired as most pieces from this maker were. Very dramatic shades of blue over cream, oatmeal, light and dark brown. Roughly 11" across and 8" tall. Unusual figural porcelain vase by George E. Johnson (American, born 1951). Signed "Johnson" and dated "1993" on the inside of the foot. This vase is decorated with two figures and a number of additional motifs in bright enamels on porcelain. George Johnson worked for Moravian Tile Company in the early nineties after receiving a degree in Ceramics from New York State College. 6 of his works are in the permanent collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
