Very large unusual footed bowl by Roger Guerin (Belgium, 1896-1954), circa 1920-1930. Signed "Guerin" (signature #9 in "Sel et Feu") and incised 160/D for glaze and form. Salt fired as most pieces from this maker were. Very dramatic shades of blue over cream, oatmeal, light and dark brown. Roughly 11" across and 8" tall. Some wear to the glaze on the edge, otherwise in good condition. One of a number of works by this artist currently available.

This is a set of nine 20th Century Dresden flower rimmed soup bowls, each handpainted with a different bouquet of Deutsche blumen within lovely shaped gilt rims, marked "Dresden" under an 8-pointed star (the mid-century mark of Adolf Hamann). Condition: excellent condition (only very slight gilt wear on some rims); Measurement: 9 _" dia.
