A Large Original Sign for "Mudjekeewis A Camp for Girls" in Lovell, Maine that operated from 1919-1969. Measures about 37 1/4" by 31 1/4" by 1 3/4" and weighs about thirty pounds. Two sided, both shown. There is a vintage photo of this sign in place on the website of the Lovell Maine Historical Society. Great memorabilia and folk art.

DESCRIPTION: A very good woven oak-splint basket in lobed buttocks form, used as a field gathering basket or a market basket for goods. This large early 1900’s Pennsylvania basket has a sturdy bentwood handle with double bentwood-wrapped rims; old varnish finish. Very good condition with minor usage wear. Decoy of a Canada Goose, dimensions roughly 28" by 9" by 8", weight 8 1/2 pounds, unsigned. I am not able to attribute this to any particular carver. As an art dealer I cannot claim to be a specialist in duck and goose decoys, but I think this has some age, circa mid 20th century. There is convincing wear, and a deep split in the wood along the left side, as if from the wood drying over time. A fine piece of folk art for the home. Came from a high end Beverly Hills estate.

Found in Freeport, Maine, this is a PAIR of circa 1870 American drawings, (possibly a bit earlier), the first of General George Washington on a prancing horse, the second of a cut glass compote overflowing with fruit. Each measures 11 3/4" by 8 3/4" inside the mats, 16" by 12" overall, one of the mats deep maroon, the other, black. They are unframed, taped on the reverse to the mats at the edges...

I have always really liked the black bottle doll doorstops. They are something I keep more than I sell. I am offering of few of mine for sale so here is the second one. This bottle doll with her head tipped to one side and her mouth, down turned and barely visible is wearing a red polka dot dress with a shear cap and apron. Hewn from one piece of wood, our porcine friend leisurely resided for many years on the enclosed back porch of historic Coolmore Plantation, Taroboro, NC (see last photo of home). In very good condition, she does have some age cracks, but is very solid. Measures 21 inches long x 13" high x 12" and weights 21 lbs. Age unknown so we are listing as vintage.
