Midcentury Modern sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Alphonse La Paglia (d. 1953) in New Jersey. Baluster with asymmetrical oval mouth; stepped and round foot ring with flat beading. High-looping handle wrapped with abstract leaves; scroll terminal inset with Jensen-inspired seed-spilling pod on wire stem. The influence of the master applied to a traditional form. Marked “La Paglia Sterling 208”. Very good condition.

Silver mounted agate sculpture in the form of a Kiwi or a similar bird. The silver is well worked and complements the rich brown shadings of the agate. The silver mountings are marked "P. Rata 833".

A vintage 3" Dutch silver bookmark with a fine figural free spinning windmill on the top. This book mark has the sword mark used from 1906-53 and it has an unidentified maker's mark. It weighs 6.4 grams, and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use...

Midcentury Modern sterling silver toothpick holder. Made by Alphonse La Paglia (d. 1953) in New Jersey. Drum-form with double-banded mouth rim. Spread base applied with cast band comprising alternating leafing scrolls and flowerheads. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 160. Very good condition.

Midcentury Modern sterling silver porringer. Made by Richard Dimes in Boston. Curved sides and cast open and scrolled handle with kitty sitting pretty, with stiffened forelegs and gaping, gleeful mouth. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and no. 137. Very good condition.

Sterling silver creamer and sugar made by Sanborns Silver in the 1950s. Both pieces made in Mexico and marked "Sanborns Mexico Sterling" and "SA 925 m.m. Hecho en "Mexico D.F." Both measure 3.625" in diameter across the top. Both are 2.5" tall including the foot. Both pieces are in excellent condition. The overall weight of both is approximately one pound.

Palmette sterling silver bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Curved sides and flared rim. Rests on 4 side-mounted stylized floral supports. Each support radiates 3 incised vertical lines. An early piece in this pattern (no. 23238), which was first produced in 1947. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern number, and director’s letter M (1947-56). Very good condition.

An elegant sterling silver small letter opener in Kirk’s “Repousse” pattern. The wide end is beautifully decorated with a pattern of roses and foliage against a stippled background. The flat edge is marked off so it can be used as a ruler. The back is marked with the Kirk hallmarked used 1932-61.

Origin: America, ca. 1950. Condition: excellent, very light wear to the first few 1/16” makers on the ruler at the pointed tip. Weight: 26.5 grams.

An ornate solid 800 silver pair of European 7-3/8" long hinged pastry tongs. The handles have hand-made floral decoration and the lifter end has roses, and would also work nicely for serving asparagus. This pretty serving piece is stamped 800 with what looks like a chevron shape maker's mark (unidentified), and it weighs 79.6 grams...

Set of 7 Francis I sterling silver nut dishes. Made by Reed & Barton in Taunton, Mass. 1951-52. Quatrefoil well, lobed sides, and scrolled rim. Embossed fruits and leaves. Nice pieces in the classic pattern. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern name, and no. X569. Three have 1951 date symbol and 4 have 1952 date symbol. Very good condition.

Three piece tea set made of sterling silver and rosewood. Made by William Spratling in Mexico c.1950. The teapot measures approximately 6" tall. The rosewood handle measures 3.75" long. At its widest, at the base it is approximately 3" in diameter. The teapot weighs about 1 lb. The two-handled teacup measures 2.25" in diameter and 2.5" deep. Each handle is 1" long by 1.5" tall. The cup weighs 118.6 grams. The creamer measures 2.5" in diameter, 3" including the spout...

Being offered is an exquisite circa 1955 sterling silver bowl by Conquistador, of Taxco, Mexico. Modernist footed bowl with a stylized lid featuring a three dimensional flower motif. Dimensions: 5 inches diameter by 2 1/2 inches tall. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. Superb design and construction.

Very nice sterling silver Colonial-style porringer by Alvin Silver Co. Sterling porringers are a traditional gift for newborns, serving as a feeding dish. They are also suitable for mint/nut dishes or wine bottle coasters. The bottom is marked "Lullaby Sterling" which is a division of Alvin.

Origin: America, mid-20th century. Condition: excellent, a pinpoint ding on one side near the handle. Size: 4" diameter (excluding handle); 1-1/4" high. Weight: 61.5 grams.
