Chinese porcelain carved/molded snuff bottle all in white with a pelican standing on one leg among foliage. 4 character Daoguang 1821-50 mark on base.

A beautiful late 19th/20th C. Chinese famille rose porcelain water pot, in excellent condition. D:12cm.

The natural ash glaze gradates from a light-glossy grey on one side to a blueish grey on the other. The foot of the bowl is unglazed at the base and shows traces of ferrous-rich clay in the form of an orangish hue. The mouth of the piece is somewhat oblong giving it an attractive shape and the rough texture and ash deposits in places give this bowl a weighty presence...

 

A finely carved Chinese agate in the form of a popular motif often seen in Tibet which is the windhorse. The use of Tibetan motifs in Chinese arts began during the Ming dynasty with patronage of the Tibetan high lamas and continued onwards into the Qing Dynasty. The windhorse is carrying a pecha or sutra text, a signature motif often found on windhorses. The stylized ribbons and the waves are done in the Chinese style. Japanese isho tansu (clothing chest) in three sections. This piece is made of kiri (paulownia) wood and has beautiful lacquered hardware. The top section has sliding panels and a drop in panel made all of keyaki (elm) wood and six small drawers of various sizes. The sliders have pretty plum blossom shaped pulls. The middle section has 3 large full width drawers. The bottom section has 2 large drawers and 2 small drawers in the lower right hand corner...

Pair of Chinese antique erotic mirrored imaged plates done in famille rose showing a man and a woman involved in creative pleasures. The plates are gilt rim and the underside of each plate are glazed in pink. On the base of each, there is a 6 character Tongzhi (1862-1874) mark in iron red. These plates come boxed.

Chinese round table of natural gnarled, twisted hardwood roots, and a transparent russet lacquer. The table is constructed in two parts- The trunk-like pedestal base and the rooted edge, round top. This type of natural root furniture goes back to the 12th century aesthetic. Here is an example of the round center table produced during the Republic period, bearing the colonial form true to the Victorian Era.

Antique Chinese fine famille rose porcelain vase with landscape of mountains and lake. The vase is an elegant shape with defined calligraphy. This style of decoration was popular in the 1930s. The base bears the studio name: Yitao Zhai, similar in style to the Society of Eight Friends. Produced by Zhang Zhitang (1893-1971). It measures 14" tall x 6.5" wide.
