Rare and unusual Iban pottery pattern paddle carved from durable Iron Wood (Belian wood), circa 19th century. The pattern on this would be pressed into unfired clay pots to give it this design by the Iban people of Sarawak. This technique has been used since Neolithic times predating the pottery wheel, where pots were made by coiling “ropes” of clay into a shape and then using the paddle to press the coils together to make a shape...

Japanese early Showa Period comb. The comb has the design of traditional Japanese bells with red cord attached. The bells are done in high relief, one in silver lacquer one in gold lacquer and the third in bluish-green shell inlays. The comb is signed by artist. The comb measures 4 1/4" wide, 2 3/16" tall and 7/16" thick.

A fine jade pendant carved with lions in the archaistic style, Ming or later periods.

Finely worked piece with high relief details in the type of brownish celadon jade, popular during Ming period, but possible made as a later revival piece, we're not certain.

Condition: Extremely fine, patinated.

Figure of an eight-armed octopus, lying down in an almost elegant pose. Stoneware with gradient brown-beige color glaze. Signed on the back Hakushi or Hiroshi. Japan, later part of Showa era.

Noragi (work wear) made of asa (hemp) whose both wets and warps are hand-plied. The sleeves are vegetable indigo dyed cotton. A few holes with mending patches. Late 19th to mid 20th century. 109cm x 71cm

1930's Chinese Silver Enamel Reticulated Pill Box

It is 2 inches (5 cm) tall by 1.1 inches (2.8 cm) wide. It is 49.5 gram.

It is tarnished and has missing enamels, oxidation, breaks at the lattice works, bent base and lip, and surface wears and scratches (as see in the photos).

Hongshan Jade Pregnant Alien or Mother Goddess Figure Pendant. Nice kneeling figure with giant almond shaped alien eyes . The stone brown on the back black on the front and well formed tremolite growth showing the strands of the mineral. The biconically drilled suspension holes show heavy wear use and smoothing of the sculptures back indicating extended wear by someone in ancient times. A large framed woodblock print by artist Ouchi Makoto (1926-1989). Ukiyo-e style images of fierce warriors and a demon appear in the two front paper blocks, and have kanji that has been cut from the tops. A beautiful maiden appears in the third block, while a large wave appears in the last, a nod to the famous woodblock artist Hokusai. Ouchi has created great depth with his techniques of color gradation, shading, and perspective. The piece is signed at the bottom in pencil, and numbered 5/60...
