Japanese woven Bamboo Ikebana flower Basket, Ca. 1930, 11" high include handle, 9" x 7 1/2" wide, signed "Japan" on the bottom, shows wear and some scratches on the bamboo, no major damages.

This belt would have been worn for festival gatherings. Decorated with beads, cowrie shells and central turquoise medallion the belt strap is narrow approx 1.25 inched wide. Vintage Chinese soapstone small brush rest carved to represent a Taihu scholar’s rock with numerous perforations and crevices. Early Showa (1930s) Japanese lacquer obidome (sash ornament) made out of layered lacquer slab with design cut in at an angle, so numerous multicolor layers can be seen. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Clever design, wonderful quality work, very pleasant finish, metal fitting on the back for an obi cord. Length 1,74 inches.

A fairly large Korean style Buddhist painting portraying the image of the Water Moon Avalokitesvara or Suwol Gwaneum in Korean. The Avalokitesvara is dressed in vestments and accessories common to the figure of a Bodhisattva and has the water vessel which offers blessings to all sentient beings. The bodhisattva is attended by a boy figure known as shan nanzi who often seen in pictorial and textual depictions in East Asian Buddhism. Age: 20th century. Size: height 105.5" width 53"

This is a beautiful blue and white medium size brush or joss stick stand. It is decorated with the character “shou” meaning long life in the centre, with two kui dragon with split tails to the left and right of “shou” character, and scrolling foliage all over. The sides is decorated with lotus flower and below it is a ruyi head amidst scrolling foliage. Very nice piece of Chinese hardstone fruit. The leaves are a translucent green jade with the persimmon being rose quartz. There are two small legs in the back for positioning and stability. In excellent condition, it measures as displayed 4" across.

Japanese glass ojime in a form of tombodama bead of dark blue glass with flower shaped swirls of tan and white. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye.
