Ancient Thai Mon Period Lacquered and gilded Stucco Buddhist Head. The over life-size head is believed to be that of a temple guardian figure. The sculpture was split from ear to ear when we acquired it and had it restored to museum quality the gold is original only the left lower cheek was redone . Japanese multi metal engraved plaque depicting an actor dressed in a rich robe wearing a demonic mask and a long red colored wig surmounted by a twisting dragon decoration. The actor represents Ryujin, the Dragon God of the Sea, and most likely is performing in the Noh play, KASUGA RYUJIN “The Dragon God of Kasuga Shrine”. The outside is decorated with beautiful, intricate scenery depicting an oceanside temple amidst large rock formations and trees, while tiny sail boats and birds float off in the distance. Carving of a Chinese scholar made from dark hardwood with lighter orange highlighted areas, his eyes closed as if in deep meditation. He sits with one leg curled underneath himself, his left arm rested upon a carved stool or small table, with the face of a beast. He holds a scroll in his hand and creates a Buddhist mudra gesture with the same hand.

Japanese woodblock print of a tall pagoda standing in a moonlit scene, with several ladies walking the streets under parasols, and small shops lit by lanterns along the side. Signed "Tangyu Asada" (1899-1984) with chop and calligraphy. Tangyu's birth name was Benji Asada, born in Kyoto, he was active in Sosaku Hanga artist circles in the area.

Large Chinese baluster vase done in tones of under-glaze blue. The scene on this vase goes all round it and is done between multiple layers of borders. The main scene is all plants and trees.
The inside is thinly glazed. The base rim is unglazed, as well as the base. From the pictures it looks rough, but it is quite smooth.
The condition of this vase is very good. There are some places on the top rim where the glaze has skipped over...
A bronze censer modeled as a Buddhist lion with a hinged neck that lifts up his head. This piece is quite heavy.
Good patina throughout. Evidence of being well used. No repairs or breaks that are noticeable.

Large antique Chinese porcelain bowl painted in underglaze blue with scholars and students in a fenced garden above a scroll border. The interior of the bowl has similar figures surrounded by a lattice border.

Japanese Kutani Porcelain Plate, Ca. 1930, 8 1/2" diameter, with orange red overglaze design of pair of birds in the lake and highlighted in brilliant gold decoration, red mark on the bottom. The condition is good, some gilt decorations are worn on some areas, no damages.
Rare stoneware teadust melping vase. The broad mouth over narrow shoulders with the sides tapering to a slightly flared foot.
Glazed on the exterior, the base ring left bare as well as the interior below the neck. The base is glazed in the same teadust colour, the green toned glaze pooling around the edges.

Chinese antique doucai porcelain cup, stand and lid. The interior of the bowl and the lid left plain. The base of the bowl and the stand contains a six character Yongzheng mark in underglaze blue surrounded by a double circle, also in underglaze blue.

This rare jar has a wide mouth over a short neck with the ovoid body tapering to a short foot. Song dynasty, Henan wares.
These types of jars are made by using clays of two different colours. The top and bottom are then made separate and joined together horizontally.
Condition: On this jar, in a section, the top and bottom has separated along the horizontal luting line. A picture has been provided showing this separation...
A pair of Chinese famille-rose enamelled 'landscape' vases on a pink graviata ground with numerous sprigs of flowers spaced throughout. The bases with Qianlong marks (1736-95).

Age: Estimated at mid 20th century.
Pair of of Chinese antique spinach green jade plaques. Each is hand carved with a scene of bamboo and another flowering plant with butterflies overhead, all within an incised circle border. Gilt highlights the incised design of both. The reverse of each has been left bare. The stands are later.

A pair of elegant small mirror image Chinese famille rose garlic mouth bottle vases each decorated with a design of bands of stylized flower shapes at the mouth over a ruyi head border. The sides of the vases painted with luscious peony blooms on which two exotic birds perch, all over rockwork and key pattern band.
On the opposite sides, multiple lines of calligraphy with three seal marks. Base holds four character Yongzheng seal mark in blue surrounded by a double border.

A Chinese blanc de chine seated figure of the god of literature Wen Ch'ang, the divinity shown with semi domed hat and with holes in the mouth and chin for horse hair moustache and beard. A beautiful Chinese unmounted scroll painting of a pair of beautiful women seated under pine trees. One of the women is playing an instrument called a guzheng. Signature and chop of Jingzhe Cui (born 1980).

A pair of deeply carved Chinese cinnabar lacquer trays, with flower petal edges, the surfaces carved with foliate imagery such as peaches, pomegranates, citron, persimmon, and berries. Similar pieces can be seen from the 15th/16th century. Most likely this pair dates from the early 20th century.
