Himalayan mask carved in relief, with a vivid expression. Wood, with a metal plate on the forehead and the chin to affix animal hair meant to represent the mask hair and beard. Nice age patina. Nepal, early 20th century. Height:29 cm. Very good condition

In working condition, but needs a little knack for ringing, like rotating the gear at the same time when reeling up with the handle. *Stand is not attached...
This drum handle is still provided with the wooden wedge which is used to fix it on the drum. The top shows 3 faces with open and threatening mouths, each face is separated by the Shaivite trisul. The center part is a very fine dorgi framed by spherical basketwork patterns the whole giving a shape that fits well in the hand. The triangular point shows a very beautiful sculptural work. ON each angle is a Makara mouth with wide open eyes and whose hands grip very realistically sculpted snakes...

Mask carved in a very hard wood from the root of the tree whose local name is "Jugardana". On the top of the mask, you can still see natural parts not modified by the sculptor. These masks are mainly used for decorative purposes. H 20 cm
This is a very old dhyandro drum handle showing a very thick encrusted soot aptina. The design of the sculpture clearly indicates a Buddhist influence, in fact the shape of the Makala trunk turned upward is a characteristic of Buddhist phurbus, the central part is a dorgi wrapped with heavily fouled cloth strips. This dhynadri handle was collected in the Kirong Valley (inside Tibet)...

Vintage Japanese okimono of one of the 3 wise monkeys in their habitual "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” attitude - in this case Mizaru covering his eyes. Carved in ittobori (one cut) style typical for the Hida school. Very clever rendition of the animal, much more creative and challenging as a number of intersecting planes versus natural familiar rounded lines. Very clever use of ichii (yew wood), its texture nicely imitating fur of the animal, in excellent condition...

from 1970's to 1980's about 50 years old
vintage Okimono. It has flowers, butterfly and ribbon on neck design.
The Dog is made from crackle glazing semi porcelain body.
Bottom of Dog Okimono has some kind stain. It has four felt circles,
preventing scratch when placing on the wooden top.
