This cradleboard was made by Cecilia Cuthair of the Mountain Ute Indians in the 70's probably as a child's toy. There is no papoose or doll inside...but it is stuffed with cloth covered newspaper to keep its shape. The front is soft cream colored deer or elk skin (brain tanned) with beaded trim. The rear is covered with animal skin.

The cradle board is 20 inches long and 8 inches at the widest point. Condition is pristine.

A Group of 8(eight) Yixing Tea Cups. 2(two) teacups have 4.1 cm diameter and 2.6 cm height, 2(two) teacups have 4.6 cm diameter and 2.9 cm height and the other tea cups have 5 cm diameter and 2.9 cm height. The 2(two) tea cups which 5 cm diameter and 2.9 cm height have a hairline inside the cup (not appeared from outside).

A Group of Yixing Enamel Pottery, Qing Dynasty. There are a teapot,a tripod censer, a pair of tea cups on the middle and the vases on the left and right. The teapot has a small chip inside the cover and not included filter, width 19.2 cm( handle to tip spout) and height 11.8 cm. The tripod censer has a hairline 3.6 cm, diameter 8 cm and height 5.3 cm. The tea cups have 7 cm width and 4.4 cm height. The left vase has 16.4 cm height and the right vase (Zhadou) has 7.7 cm height.

1) Stoneware incense box or kogo in the shape of an onna daruma (female daruma). She sits in the typical way, all rolled up in her garment, indicating that arms and legs may have fallen off. Her face shows striking similarity to Okame. Cream colored and reddish brown glaze over whitish soft clay, the face left partially free, fine crackle in the glaze. Japan, Meiji period...

Exceptional early Showa Period c.1937 art deco bronze flower vase in the original signed paulownia box. The kanji on the box reads: Chudo Ume Moyo "bronze vase with plum petal motif. Also Kabin or "flower vase". On the inside is the signature of Tatsugo and his seal. The bronze has plum petals in raised relief and inside small crosses. The vase itself is divided in sections by incissed lines. Ask for shipping quote. H:20cm ; diameter is 22cm.

This is a silk meisen Haori which is heiyo-gasuri. As for the heiyo-gasuri, warps and wefts are stencil printed separately and then machine-woven. Heiyo-gasuri made it possible to make more vivid, colorful and free design. It has reddish brown flowers with gray and yellow in beige ground. From the Abelam tribe of Sepik River Papua, New Guinea, this traditional Kara'wut (also spelled kara ut,karaout and karahut)is made from woven plant fiber and decorated with boar tusks and nasa shells. Usually worn around the neck by the men only, on the chest or back, when facing battle the kara'ut would be clenched in the teeth, dangling from the mouth to impress the enemy with one's fierceness...

Charming set of 5 small porcelain Kutani ware plates, two with black and gold rims and scenes of birds and flowers, three with black, gold and orange rims have scenes of noble man and attendant sitting by waterfall, mark of backs, circa 1930's. Size: 5" high x 3 1/4" wide.

Small sweet container in the shape of a miniature kaioke, a box for the Japanese shell matching game. The outside engraved with flowers, the inside of the lid with a gilt kamon, maybe a sakura family crest, and an inscription. The base marked jungin (pure silver) and signed. This very nice boxwood statue with a fitted hard wood base is a mid 20th century product. It depicts a legendary Chinese figure called Ji Gong with one hand holding a wine bottle and the other hand petting his pet lion. It is 9 ½” high (with base is 10 7/16” high), 7 ¾” wide and 4” thick. As the story goes, Ji Gong was a Buddhist of the Southern Song; his dates are 1148~1209. His original name was Li Xin-Yuan. He came from Tai-Zhou in modern Zhe Jiang province, Lin-Hai county...

Hand spun, hand woven Japanese Tsumugi silk obi. This obi was made from a full obi roll without being cut; the front fabric was turned into the back and the sides of obi were simply sewn together without padding inside. This Soloman island scale model canoe is ornately decorated mother of pearl inlay. It is complete with fixed seats, 7 paddles and rides on the back of a dolphin.
