Very old shaman phurbu, the upper part shows three faces of protective ancestors surmounted by a monkey (7 cm high), the triangular blade is decorated on each side with snake interlaces topped by a Makara beak roughly carved, the sun is carved on the back side, the central part is a dorge (Tibetan ritual object symbolizing lightning and the power of the cosmos), important age at least early 20 th, hard wood, very old and beautiful black encrusted patina H 26.5 cm, presented on a iron stand

Exquisite glazing featuring a gradation that seems a product of both firing conditions and careful nurture by the artist. This piece displays a wonderful balance and nice sense of three-dimensionality.

In fine condition, this tea bowl measures 4.7 inches in diameter (11.8cm) and stands 3.3 inches tall (8.2cm). The bowl comes with its own wood box with poetic name "朝日" (Asahi) inscribed on the inside cover.

A washer made of huanghuali wood in a form of a tree trunk with carved lingzhi(ganoderma) on it. 20th Century. Height: 3-3/4"; width: 5-1/2". Condition: Good, please refer to photos.

Chinese carved jadeite bangle, wonderfully hand-carved with auspicious imagery such as a lingzhi mushroom, a bat, a chimera, and various flora.

This seal combination indicates an early post-war edition.
Condition: Excellent. A couple of nearly imperceptible waves in the paper.

The natural ash glaze gradates from a light-glossy grey on one side to a blueish grey on the other. The foot of the bowl is unglazed at the base and shows traces of ferrous-rich clay in the form of an orangish hue. The mouth of the piece is somewhat oblong giving it an attractive shape and the rough texture and ash deposits in places give this bowl a weighty presence...

A Chinese turquoise stone urn and cover carved with phoenix and other birds and animals among branches and flowering vines all around.

Age: Late 19th to early 20th century

Condition: Some breakage and losses (restoration) but in generally good condition (please refer to pictures)

Chinese white bowl carved on the outside with two rows of overlapping lotus petals. Covered with a clear ivory glaze that falls to reveal the white ware. The base and the top rim left unglazed.

Please check our new category 'Vintage Tea Bowls', where we present once in a while high quality vintage chawans. This is a vintage Japanese hand-shaped pottery tea bowl of Seto ware, which was made about 50 years ago.

The seal of the potter is stamped on the bottom. Very artistic Tenmoku glaze.

A pair of Chinese yellow glazed porcelain ogee shaped bowls with incised design on both the inner and outer rim. The center is with an incised design of a lotus bloom. The base glazed in the same yellow with a six character Hongzhi script mark. On the base of each bowl there is a Jian Ding seal.

Size: 7 cm high by 17-1/2 cm diameter

Age: Late 19th to early 20th century (Republic)

Tea bowl, thinly potted with apricots on leafy branches surrounding the cup on a white ground. The inside left bare. The top rim done in gilt. The bottom rim decorated with an additional gilt circle bordered in iron red. The base with Guangxu six character mark in iron red.

Purchased as an Imperial Mark and Period

Condition: Very good condition, no breaks or cracks...

Pair of cylinder cases, thinly potted with narrow necks and feet painted in mirror image with birds perched among flowering prunus plants. Accented red hand drawn borders at the rims and base of each vase with a poem on the opposite side.

On the base of each is a red overglaze seal of Liu Yucen.

Condition: On one of the vases, there is the remnants of a Jianding export seal. Next to this seal is a glaze crack, most likely from trying to remove the seal...

Well hollowed, the glass of varied strawberry and milky tones colour, well carved in the form of a mallow flower. Complete with a jade and agate stopper.

Age: Qing Dynasty

Condition: There is a scratch/shallow surface crack at the bottom base.

Garlic shaped mouth with twin turquoise ground handles supporting it. The flask is covered in flower heads and bats surrounding a shou character over a stylised lotus flower with other Buddhist emblems all outlined in gilt...

Chinese antique turned wooden brush pot in Huanghuali wood. The pot tapers towards the triple beaded turned base, fashioned to look like a stand and has a slightly rolled top with a recessed base. No mark. Good patination of the wood.

Approximately 22 cm high by 17-1/5 cm diameter at widest point.

Good condition with normal signs of use.

Note: I have lightened some of the pictures up quite a bit so that the details of the grain of the wood can be seen.

Painted in mirror images with figures surrounded by buildings in a mountainous coastal landscape. The opposite side with grey birds perched upon a slender prunus. Each side and tops of the vase contain texts and poems...

A Chinese Beijing yellow glass vase, 'yuhuchunping'. This thick-walled multi-layered vase formed with a pear-shaped body is raised on a slightly flared rolled foot. The opaque glass is a bright egg-yolk yellow colour. Qianlong incised four-character mark within a single square. A well-made and heavy vase.

Japanese early to mid 20th century ceramic tea cup by SUIGETSU. The tea cup has the design of a camellia blossom done in high relief around the sides of the cup. The cup measures 4 3/8" tall and 3 1/8" in diameter.

Japanese bronze usubata in the form of an open natural lotus, standing on a coiled stem with a lotus bud. Usubata are used for beautiful flower arrangements, an art form known as ikebana.

Size: 9" L x 9" W x 6" H

Japanese bronze suiban, or a dish to be filled with viewing stones called suiseki, as well as small plant arrangements. The rim has flower petal incision motifs while the sides are decorated by medallions and a pair of handles shaped like elephant heads. Artist's signature on bottom.

Japanese framed print by artist Tanaka Ryohei, born in 1933 in Takatsuki City, Osaka Prefecture. He has appeared in numerous art exhibits all over the world and his collections may be viewed in many museums such as the Cincinnati Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art San Francisco, and the Shanghai, China Museum. The medium used for this print are copperplate etching with aquatint. Titled "June", dated 1993, signed, and numbered 110/150 in its series in pencil...

A large Japanese framed print by renown artist Mayumi Oda, born 1941. Mayumi is most well known for her depictions of male Buddhist deities presented as women. This silkscreen print is titled "Daikoku", normally a male, the god of good luck and fortune. The title, number 22/40, and Mayumi's signature are done in pencil along the bottom margin. The print itself is tastefully framed behind special UV blocking glass. Circa 1984...

A lovely Shino tea bowl fashioned from coarse, iron-rich Mino clay and covered in feldspar glazing. The crackled glazing along with the elongated kutsugata shape (shoe shape) are very typical of this type of Shino-ware and these elements compliment each other nicely...
