This pot was done in he 19th century and looks like a part of a tree trunk.
The original section of wood had the knots and protrusions that are seen here, then parts of the trunk were evened out and made smoothe.
The base was once lacquered over now it clean the original patina is seem on the rim and the inside of the pot
