Very beautiful dark wood phurbu richly carved, the top shows 3 beautiful faces of protective ancestors of exceptional sculptural quality, each face measures 5 to 6 cm high. A drum handle from a gompa used by a lama. The handle can be removed for a better handling, especially when the lama had to go for a family ceremony, marriage, funerals etc. the drum; the drum is quite heavy as it is made in a single piece of wood with almost no figurative carving only one chimeric animal on each side. Japanese Stoneware Tokkuri (Sake Bottle) - Meiji Period

This stoneware bottle was made during the Meiji period (1868 - 1912). It is decorated with ridges that surround the body to the upper and lower shoulder. The neck is coated in a thick deep-brown glaze, with a nice run, whilst the main body is coated in a finely-crackled olive-green glaze. The base is flat, although a little uneven as it causes the bottle to stand with a slight lean.

This stoneware bottle was most likely made around the 1950s. Apart from the unglazed flat base, it is coated in a beige glaze, the colour of which varies in places. A basic underglaze pattern is brushed on opposing sides at the shoulder. The mouth has been formed into a pouring spout.

Height 23 cm (9 inches). There is a filled chip to the inner mouth, otherwise good condition.
