Mask with black soot patina whose edges of the mouth and eyes are enhanced with red and also white for the eyes only. The tip of the nose shows a much higher wear patina than the other areas of the mask. The inside of the mask also shows a very nice shiny black indicating important signs of use. This mask shows all the features of a joker mask, possibly from kami people (untouchable cast), North central region of Nepal H 27cm , mid 20th century

Old tribal mask from the North West of Nepal, Humla district, we can see several old shreds of hairy skin (possibly from goat?) fixed on the forehead and the chin as well as important vestiges of hair fixed with glue around the mouth. The teeth have been sculpted in a very realistic, important black soot patina. H 25 cm, important age from the beginning to the middle of the 20th century

Mask carved in a very hard wood, the design is minimal. However the lines formed by the nose and the continuity with those located above the eyes evoke the shape of a spider. Note a slot on the right of the mask, however well secured by a metal clip. Far north west of Nepal, Humla region, H 34 cm, W 19 cm, age circa mid 20th.

Old mask carved in a very hard wood depicting a benevolent expression face covered with a beautiful and thick black patina. Not remains of animal hairs or horsehair that represented the hairiness of the eyebrows, moustache and chin. Three nails on the forehead were supposed to retain a fragment of leather. The symmetry of the sculpture gives it a smoothing presence. Probably from Western Nepal and the Magar ethnic group. Age is important at least early 20th century H 25 cm n Width 14 cm,

Important and rather rare ancient statue from West Nepal (Karnali River districts but possibly Jumla region). The statue shows a protector standing with his hands folded in the ritual gesture of Namaste. Note the treatment of the arms showing a rounded rather than angular elbow joint. Charming votive folk embroidery, from the Saurashtra area of Gujarat, made by the Kanbi farmers caste, circa 50/60 years old. The two ply field is woven from all hand spun rough cotton thread; hand dyed silk thread and small glass mirrors. Ganesh is flanked by two female consorts and his “vehicle” of mice beneath him.
