Wonderful hand-carving from teak wood depicting Ganesha, the Hindu god of beginnings. He is easily identifiable by his elephant's head and four arms, two of which are shown holding his own broken tusks, and one of which is grasping his nose. He sits under an archway upon a hippopotamus with its head turned straight upward. Early 20th century (1900-1925)

Large Horse Head Festival Mask from Orissa, an area of India renowned for centuries for its fine sculpture. A beautiful, colorful and large example, 2 feet (61cm) in height. From the collection of Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. Irwin Hersey was an advisor to museums and prominent collectors, and vetted pieces for many of the international tribal art fairs and Asian art fairs.

Ceremonial hat made of intricately woven, partly dyed in red, cane, decorated with bear fur also dyed in red, feathers and two boar tusks. North India, Naga ethnic group. Height: 27 cm. Obvious signs of age, otherwise very good condition.
A framed lithograph entitled "Horse" by the artist, Kaiko Moti (1921-1989). Moti was born in Bombay, India. He studied at the Bombay School of Fine Art and spent time living and working in Paris. He is most famous for his images of horses. This lithograph is signed in pencil and numbered 15 of 100. Framed.

Magnificent Serpentine hand carved GANESH and Singha Lion Figure. Very good condition, no damage or repair whatsoever. Size: H. 20 cm. x W. 12 cm. x D. 4 cm. Very fine workmanship indeed.
This headdress would have been worn by a young Pashtun woman. It is heavily beaded and decorated with wonderful embroidery, and various buttons and coins. The Pashtun range across Afghanistan, Pakistan and Northern India. This hat was sourced in India but it may not have started there.
The head dress hat is 25 inches long and is in excellent condition.
