OLD IRON SCISSORS OF KOREAN CANDY VENDOR

Once used for attracting people with its snipping sound by the street candy vendor (but actually not used for cutting candy taffy), early 20th century, Korea, approx. 29 x 13.5cm (11.41 x 5.31in). Some expected stains, scratches, and rust due to use and aging as seen. Slightly loosened clasp as is...

Lovely Korean brass footed box with handle. This box is engraved with 2 deer on the front, a turtle on each side, and double happiness symbol on lid. There is a fish lock (no key) and the box opens to reveal a removable tray. In very good condition, the only issue is the seam on the lid right corner has slightly separated. Dating first half 20th century, it measures 6" long, about 4" high, and a little over 3.5" deep.

A large heavy Korean brass bowl or tray that was used to carry smaller bowls of rice and vegetables to men working in the fields. The bowl was wrought to shape, and it shows the evidence of being hand pounded. The Bowl measures about 3 1/2" high x 13 1/2" in diameter, weighs about 3 1/2 pounds, and dates to the early 20th Century. The condition is very good with only minor surface tarnish and corrosion. It was the custom in Korea to polish brass, and such a bowl would shine up beautifully...

Korean hanging Brown Lacquered Wooden Sword Rack, or Sword Display Shelf, vintage 1960, 26" wide, 22" high, 4 1/2" deep-bottom rack, three(3) Brass inlaid flying geese decoration on the top panel and 3 rows of the curved holders on both sides to hold each sword. Large Artist's Proof of Munjado Calligraphy by the Famous Kim Ki Chang aka Unbo (1913 - 2001). Despite being deaf, Unbo was one of Korea's most beloved 20th Century artists. His works are now sought by museums and collectors internationally. This is the original signed AP (Artist's Proof) of this large lithograph, where Unbo gives us a most creative rendering with anthropomorphic figures in the ancient style of figurative munjado calligraphy. 38.5 x 28.5 inches, 98 x 72.5 cm.
