Tea Ceremony Seto Chaire Tea Caddy of cylindrical form with slightly tapering sides, covered with a light chocolate brown and a running mottled black glaze. Ivory lid lined with gold leaf on the inside. Signed: Hikari. It comes with a silk shifuku storage pouch. Size: H 9,5 x 6 cm. Taisho -Showa period. Good Condition!

A masterpiece by one of Japan's preeminent artists, Seiko Sawada b.1894-1988. This signed piece was executed out of keyaki wood in his younger days in the 1930's depicts Ebisu, one of the seven lucky gods, riding a fish and a wave spouting out of the fish's mouth. Daikoku, the god of abundance, is riding his treasure bag holding his hammer of magic. The Sawada Museum is in Atami, Shizuoka. Sawada was awarded the Order of Merit in the 1970's.

1930's Chinese Jadeite 22K Yellow Gold Ring Marked "足金"

The ring is a size 6. The jadeite is 11.58 mm wide. It is 4.95 gram.

The jadeite has inclusions, a chip, and surface wears. The ring has surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

1930's Chinese Jadeite Carved Bowl

Circa 1980, Philippines woven reed and bamboo storage basket crafted by the Ifugao people of the Luzon Cordillera range in the Philippines. Known for their craftsmanship in basketry both Ifugao men and women engage in basket making. Created for everyday use, head baskets like this were used in the fields to collect rice or sweet potatoes and then to store, keeping perishables dry. In excellent condition, it measures 13.5" square by 6" high.

A vintage mid century 2 section Kamo Isho Tansu made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze hardware including the central Peony flower lock plates on the doors and the arabesque back plates to the drawer handles. Constructed using dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails. Behind the hinged doors of the upper section is housed 6 full width Kimono trays and two Obi trays with 3 small drawers for fashion accessories like Tabi, Kami-kazari and Himo...

Painted lacquerware in Asia is thought to have more than 3,000 years of history; originating in China and then later spreading to South East Asia, Korea, and Japan. One reason this craft has taken centuries to perfect is that the sap of the tree used is highly toxic and irritating to the skin and to the lungs. Even minor contact with the raw materials can cause serious issues, making collecting and refining it quite labor intensive...

Chinese Tang Style Black Jade? recumbent foo dog Lion scholar object possibly a scroll weight. Well carved foo lion in a black stone with very heavy wear on the base showing what seems to be hundreds of years' worth of wear as well as the mid-section of the body. Export seal on head. this came from the estate of a noted archologist. Size l 3.25" w 2" h 1.6"

Fine ancient Hongshan red orange Agate Dog toggle pendant sculpture. The best we have had it is a wonderful figure sitting upright with his head tilted back the stone is quite translucent and very well carved, no damage little deposits due to type of stone. Collected in HK 1980s. Weight 60g size 6cm by 5 cm

An unusual small cylindrical Wakasa lacquer box. Dating Late Taisho, Early Showa Period, it measures 3.5" diameter, 1.25" high. Has some micro abrasions from surface wear on the bottom.
