This is a finely hand-painted Indo-Persian Central Asian miniature painting depicting a sitting, turbaned young man holding a drinking cup. The painting is a gold and gouache masterpiece on paper, signed "Ashina" in Arabic script. The inner border is decorated with a gold lattice motif, while the outer borders feature foliate motifs.
