DESCRIPTION: An extraordinary, thick and vibrantly colored horse saddle blanket, hand woven in Persia, and complete with original plaited rope fringe. Colorful geometric patterns form the ground of this tribal piece (probably Kurdish or Luri), separated by black and white key fret borders. Vintage miniature Persian painting on marble of a Mughal court scene. Framed and in excellent condition, it measures 8" x 10". Painting sight size is 3.5" x 5.5". Photographed through glass, the colors are rich and vibrant.
Elaborately decorated brass tea tin or canister. Carving appears to be of Egyptian origin, it has seven panels of Arabic Calligraphy. The top rim is encircled by seven carved animals. The lid has concentric circles of designs of diagonal bars, braids and diamonds with a crescent moon finial. The hinge is fairly primitive, but is in good working order...
Antique Qajar Dynasty early 20th century Islamic, Persian ceramic vase painted in blues, green, yellow, pink, brown and grey on a white background and decorated with two birds, possibly Phoenixes. The remaining background is filled in with a classic Qajar floral design. Good condition with slight crazing and glaze irregularities at the bottom. A little roughness in the glaze at the top rim. Approximately 12 inches high and 9 inches in diameter. Weight is 4.5 pounds.

Uzbek/kazak hand knotted wool rug. The center is dominated by a light yellow medallion edged with red. The exterior band has a rectalinear pattern in blues, greens, reds and yellows bordered by two narrow bands filled with flowers. Dates from mid 20th century. It measures 42" by 53".

This This Moroccan Jambiya (Koumiya) features a graceful curving line, with intricate embossing, Measuring 15" long and weighing a little under a pound, the handle and sheath are encased with with embossed silver metal. The blade appears to be carbon steel, and isn't particularly sharp. There are a pair of rings for attaching it to a belt. I suspect this may be a Moroccan ceremonial or display piece from the 1960's.
This Middle Eastern miniature painting depicts a surreal hunting scene on the banks of a river, where two large green creatures are surfacing. Two men kneeling on the riverbank appear poised to release small arrows toward the huge heads of the fish. Five more men along the river banks are either chasing or hunting small, deer-like animals. Both the central scene and wide border are brightened by the liberal use of gold leaf, a characteristic of Persian works...
This man's beaded hat aka skullcap is typical of the Pashtun people in the region of Southern Afganistan. Because of the extensive beading pattern, it is rather stiff and heavy.
Presumably, the interior layer of fabric was from pieced of fabric from other garments.
Hand knoted persian rug made of wool. Dark blue against a pale rose ground makes this an eye catching piece. The central medallion is bordered with a pale green. The border has floral scrolling band between bands with parallelograms in blue, green, and rose pink. Staines
and wear in central area. It measures 7'7" by 5'7"
The basic fabric is a fine plain weave, the edges embroidered in vibrant colored yarn. The decoration is identical on both surfaces. Condition: few tiny stains. Dimension: 70 cm x 72 cm.

Persian Afshar hand knotted wool rug. The Afshar were a preeminent nomad tribe who crafted high quality rugs. The three stepped medallions in the center is one of their typical designs. The center ground is a dark blue spotted with flowers surrounding the three cream colored medallions that are stepped in red, Age early 20th century. It measures 82" by 58"

The border has a geometrical floral band with red flowers, blue diamond shapes on cream ground. The center has a red ground with blue and cream colored designs. last quarter 20th century. It measures 73" by 54".
