Chinese carved coral scene of two beautiful young shepherdesses with their sheep, one stands with her back against a tall pine tree and blows her whistle, the other feeds the little sheep from a cylindrical container, another sheep and a little lamb frolic nearby, beautifully carved with great detail, mid 20th century. Vintage Japanese conch shell horn, known as a horagai or a jinkai depending on its usage. The horagai has been used in Buddhist practice for over one thousand years. Large Chinese jade (nephrite) ceremonial piece, in the style of the Liangzhu period (3400-2250 BC), with carvings of faces. This nephrite piece is solid and has a pointed tip, and dpierced hole through its very top. The carvings around its edges look like eyes and may be related to the taotie (roughly "gluttonous ogre mask") motif, which were essentially symmetrical zoomorphic faces with no lower jaw, thought by scholars to be linked to religious ceremony and the afterlife...

Embossed limited edition etching by Japanese artist Mayumi Oda (1941-present) titled "Treasure Ship on the Great Lake", #11/30. It is signed at the bottom in pencil. The treasure ship is usually depicted with the Seven Lucky Gods aboard it, however Mayumi believed only in goddesses and thus created her treasure ship collection depicting only females riding aboard it. Mayumi is known as the 'Matisse of Japan'...

An antique Chinese Lingbi stone (scholar's rock or spirit stone) has a very distinct ring when it is struck. Scholar's rocks are appreciated for their unusual shapes, asymmetry, color and texture. Scholars refer to them as "bones of the earth". It is a carved blackish stone overhang with perforations. It set upon a contemporary Shuozhou style carved rosewood base with 4 rounded feet.

A large shiwan (shekwan) sculpture of an Aesthetic riding a pomegranate red foo lion. The glaze is thick and glass-like with a natural crackle that only comes from age. The clay’s color and some ash residue (a good thing) indicate that this piece was fired in a dragon kiln about 5 - 15 miles upstream from Foshan. The Immortal’s robes are glazed with a rich translucent celadon color. There are two peaches at his side and he is holding a single peach in his upright hand...

Lovely Japanese Hira Taiko Drum, made from a light hardwood, and hung from a Hiratsuri stand. The drum has iron studding to keep its drum skins in place and gold kanji/kana on a black metal strip, with a gold taiko logo for Maru Masa. A drumstick is included which hangs off a hook from the Hiratsuri stand. Makes a lovely drum sound as it is intact and in good condition. This chalkware TV lamp is of a deer jumping over a log at the edge of a forest. The lamp is painted in greens, browns and black, and is wonderfully detailed, from the bark on the log, to the branches on the trees. The condition is excellent, with almost no paint loss, a few flakes here and there, and no chips that I can find...
