Ovoid crystal bowl with cut and engraved ornament: Beaded horse shoe in curvilinear strapwork frame, and stylized thistles. Sterling silver helmet mouth in shaped mount with raised grain heads and entwined tendrils; high-looping reeded handle. Flattened ball stopper with same and short clear glass plug. This set comprises 4 pieces: Hand mirror, hairbrush, clothes brush, and button hook. Mirror and hairbrush have armorial backs and tapering and fluted silver handles with vasiform finials. Low-relief ornament on stippled ground. Bowl has wraparound frieze with garlands, leafing volute scrolls, and leaf-ornamented columns between tête à tête gryphons. On foot rim is a garland held up by dancing putti. Bowl interior gilt.
