A MASSIVE BRASS MORTAR WITH CORRESPONDING PESTLE, DATED MID 18TH. CENTURY, CA. 1730-50.
The mortar is huge and measure an anstonishing 15 cm. in height and is 15 cm. wide at the rim. The corrosponding pestle measure 24,5 cm. The weight is 6,5 kilograms!

Large Japanese Meiji period rounded square form black lacquered wood deep tray decorated in gold and polychrome accents with three birds among flowers and bamboo above a stream at the bottom. The rim is gold. 14 3/4" square with a lip nearly 2 1/4" high. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition with only a few fine scratches on the back. A Remarkable Indian or East Asian offering Bowl on Stand, late 19th or early 20th century.
The bowl is cast and then finished by fine chisel work and engraving, all against an intricate punched ground. It features a myriad of hunters and animals, the trees seem full of game. On the hilly horizon can be seen various dwellings and pavilions, tiny birds in the sky. The base is an arrangement of three elephant heads supporting an acanthus cup on which sits the offering bowl.

This is a nice and rare Korean Choson dynasty, 15th or 16th century white glazed vase. It has a nicely potted pear shape and is covered in a fine and pure white glaze. During King Sejong's Reign in the early Choson dynasty, white wares were declared the Imperial wares and were reserved for court use.
