The painting is attributed to Henry Mitchell, a Minton artist specializing in painting dogs and wildlife. The plate measures 9 ½ inches in diameter. The central focus is the nearly photographic quality painting of a sleeping hound dog on a fur rug. Objects in the background come to life with colors and textures. The surrounding ...

Superb and extremely rare silverplated cocktail shaker in the "Ile de France" pattern by Meriden Britannia Plate Co. This is one of the most desirable of the high style Art Deco shakers. The ocean liner "Ile de France" was launched in 1926--not as the largest ship afloat, but intentionally as the most elegant ship in the world. This shaker was intended to celebrate that achievement and took its streamlined design elements from the ship itself. The pour spout protrudes from the side of the sh...

Size: 8 5/8 inches wide by 1 ¼ inches high. Condition: Excellent, no chips cracks or repairs. Please see my store page for sales policy and other information.

Fine and very rare large Ko Kutani (Ko arita) plate signed with stilt marks. Date: circa 1670. Classic colors and design in a very early example. Condition: Excellent, one tiny flake is off one of the green leaves, (see detail photograph), no chips, cracks or repairs. Also, there is an original firing flaw (a jagged crack) on the base. This was caused by slight sagging when the plate was originally fired. Size 9 5/8 inches at the widest point by just over ½ inch high. This is the only exampl...

Approximately 18.6 square. Perfect condition.

A female dancer dressed in massive and splendid Noh attire. The painting is attributed to Iwasa Matabei (1578–1650), a renowned Japanese painter who is often considered originating ukiyo-e genre painting. As is often the case with this artist, these two paintings do not bear his signature or seal, however the depiction of the figures with rich cheeks and long jaws shows typical expression of people of high social rank during medieval periods, which he exaggerated the expression was originated ...
