This is a very fine and rare 18th or 19th century white jade sutra plaque. It was made from a very fine piece of mutton fat white jade of an even and very pale milky white tone. It was skilfully carved in intaglio and gilt with the Chinese version of Prajnaparamita Hridaya Sutra, the Heart Sutra on both sides translated by the famous Tang dynasty monk, Xuanzang. Jade is such a hard material that it is extremely difficult to carve the Sutra on a plaque of this size. Yet the carvings are excellent...
Early 20th C Japanese glazed porcelain figure of a puppy, most likely an akita. The puppy is wearing a ruffled collar with bells. If you hold this piece under a bright light, you can see some surface crazing that occurred after firing during the cooling process, which attests to its age. In excellent condition, it measures 5.5" high, 3.5" wide, 4.5" deep.
A charming porcelain statue was rarely found from an old collection.
In amusing subject of Mother and Child, this statue was put in the famous Chinese antique magazine Art and Collection - May edition, to celebrate the international Mother's Day of May.
It was well preserved without any crack-lines and was free from any restorations.

19th C Meissen "Love Crowned" porcelain hand painted figurine of Cupid placing a flower crown over a pair of hearts. In excellent condition save for one small chip on base bottom corner. It is marked with cross swords in underglaze on the base. Measures about 5.5"s high, 2.75" wide, 2.25" deep. Circa 1880. We also have "Love Captive", see last photo.
A fine and very rare bat-shaped porcelain censer with what are apparently bat head feet. We believe that there would originally have been a wood cover secured into the two outer holes and that the incense smoke would have escaped through the three central holes.
This item was made in China for the domestic market as a temple or home alter piece in the early 18th Century, probably during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722).
Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration.
