Stand has oval well. Turned-down and irregular scrolled rims with chased leafing scrolls and applied scallop shells. Engraved interlaced script monograms. German Renaissance 800 silver wine bottle coaster, ca 1890. Round and deep well. Central rondel (vacant) in engine-turned frame radiating leaf and scroll ornament on lined ground. Wide and flat rim with embossed curvilinear scrollwork and ovals (vacant) between beaded borders. Fully marked including maker’s (Koch & Bergfeld) and retailer’s (Gebrüder Friedländer) stamps. Very good condition with deep patina.

Victorian sterling silver wine cooler. Deep ovoid bowl on raised foot. Leaf-capped dolphin scroll-bracket side handles. Bead-and-reel and leaf-and-dart borders. Chased frieze depicting garland-entwined, barefooted, long-tressed nymphs, their loose drapery suggestive of overflowing abundance. Fin-de-siecle Classicism for a new age.

This piece was two or three years old when it was exhibited at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893.

Fairfax sterling silver tea tray, ca 1920. Retailed by Black, Starr & Frost in New York. Rectilinear with chamfered corners and shaped ends with cutout oval handles. A beautiful piece in the Art Deco pattern that was made by Gorham and Durgin. Marks include retailer’s stamp and pattern no. 04. Very good condition.
