Oversized Japanese woodblock print by Shufu Miyamoto (b. 1950) titled "Water Weeds at Hiroshima." The lower margin is pencil-titled in kanji and English, pencil-signed, and dated '84. It is numbered in pencil 5/150 at the lower left below the artist's red seal. Paper: 17 5/8" x 22 3/4" (image: 15 1/4" x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. There are some minor wrinkles in the paper at the margin edges and there is a small mark in the margin at the upper left corner.

Unusual mask with flat top, small forehead, relief pierced through eyes, protruding nose, open mouth showing pierced through teeth, short rounded chin. Wood, dark patina. Remnants of thin superimposed layers of polychrome pigments. Himalayan Region, early 19th century, probably earlier. Height: 10 1/4" (26 cm). This old Japanese Noh theater mask has the expressive face of an old man. The mask is carved from paulownia wood and dates to middle Edo period, around 1750. The patina is wonderful.

A 10.8" square tray signed Teizan and sealed Kinzan, mid Meiji period, depicting an unfortunate encounter between a hawk and a goose.

Condition: Quite good overall condition, There is a faint nick and short enamel crack to the front of the tray, two small areas of enamel cracking to the reverse, and pitting usual to the period. No dents or restoration.

Exquisite set of Japanese Dairi bina (hina), the emperor and the empress dolls from early to mid Showa period. This is not a large set of dolls. A fine and rare 19th century Japanese cloisonne bi-fold table screen in the Kyoto school of Namikawa, depicting a ho bird and dragon. The finely coiled wiring is gilded, as are the back panels of the screen. Each cloisonne panel is wood framed, joined with hinges of silver. Fully opened, the screen measures 8" high and 9" wide.

Condition: Quite fine, with only wear commensurate with age.

Folk Art Portrait by American Artist, attributed to Sheldon Peck (1797-1868). This Portrait was purchased at a North Carolina auction from the Larew Collection. A large and very impressive tomb pottery horseman, Chinese, 1368-1644 AD. The type has been thoroughly tested and was burnt approx 500 years ago, placing it in the mid Ming period, c. early-mid 16th. century.

The pottery horseman, a higher-ranking officer, was probably originally equipped with a standard of wood, that has now decayed. He is clad in body armor in blue and torquise and wears a cone- shaped helmet. He is riding a white horse with details in torquise.
