19th century Chinese porcelain figure of a Chinese scholar standing on a base decorated with 6 out of the 8 Emblems of the Immortals: a flower basket, a gourd, a bamboo tube, a lotus, a fan and a flute. Very nice potting, wonderful face, delicate use of colors with turquoise enamel pooling in recesses and creating a deeper shade. Great patina, compressed dust on the surface. Height 4 1/2 inches.
1960's Chinese green and white jadeite carving of lotus and bamboo on a custom wood stand. A frog is perched on one of the lotus leaves and a bamboo stalk in the background serves to hold calligraphy brushes or fresh flowers. In excellent condition, it measures 7.25" high, on stand 8.75" high, 5.5 across, and about 3.5" deep.
