German silver figural bird bowl, ca 1920. A swan with s-scroll neck, closed bill, and direct expression. Webbed feet in glide mode. Fine delineation of feathers from scaly neck to downy wing plumes. Curvilinear silver gilt arms with block volute terminals mounted to shaft with same; each terminates in single jade socket on silver gilt leaf-and-dart mount. Raised central socket same. Tight and dense overlay with flower heads and rolling scrolls. Scalloped borders. Scrolled cartouche with interlaced script monogram. Glass red except stopper plug, which is clear.
