Large ushabti, with pleasant facial expression, depicted mummiform, with hands emerging from tightly-fitting garment, hands holding implements, seedsack suspended over shoulder, wearing a partially striated tripartite wig, and with 10 lines of hieroglyphic text, reading "pA-dj-jj-m-Htp" for the owner. Probably pronounced "Padiemhotep." The name means "the one whom 'Come-In-Peace' gives". 21114688 A very nice 8 ½ inch tall Galle cameo banjo form vase. The red over colorless over opal vase has a motif of cherries and leaves. The vase is signed as seen faintly in photograph C. The neck of the vase is 5/8" in diameter and the flat bulbous bottom is 2 3/8" wide and 1 ½” deep. The vase is in wonderful condition.
This piece is made of copper glaze called "oribe". At first , it is covered with feldspar and painted with iron and next it is covered with copper glaze. It is firing into burning charcoal in the kiln, so there are complicated atmosphere, oxidation and reduction.
The oxidation atmosphere makes the copper glaze red, the reduction atmosphere makes it green and the mixture atmosphere makes complicated color.

Such refined craftsmanship of characteristic unilateral rounded lattice facing outward tells this pieces were actually installed in the residence of Yangban (ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yangban)
at that time. Also its unique iron fittings and handle are tasteful. Deterioration due to aging, but still substantial make as is.

A vintage sterling silver parure by Margot de Taxco, (Margot Van Voorhies Carr), design number 5127, in a classic design.
Necklace measures 15 3/4" long with the central pendant measuring 1 1/2" high and 2 1/2" across. The central pendant can be detached and worn as a brooch. The pin part is missing and would have to be replaced. The part of the catch that swings over to hold the pin in place is also missing. The necklace has a box clasp that holds securely.
