This freestanding figure of a horse is well cast and anatomically accurate. The head of the animal is tilted slightly to the right and the mane and tail are both well defined. Very rare cast bronze sculpture of the Chinese monk Xuanzang with a pile of Buddhist scriptures rolled up and stacked in the pack on his back and a lotus leaf over his head from which dangles an incense burner, as he returns to China from India.
In his hands he was holding a scroll and a fly whisk that are now missing. Figure stands on an irregularly shaped base. Japan, mid Edo period, 18th century.

A pine needle pattern Tiffany Studios large round inkwell. The inkwell is 6 inches in diameter and 3 1/4 inches high. The base of the inkwell is marked “Tiffany Studios New York” and is model number 847. The green slag glass has the darkest color I have seen in any of the Tiffany Studios etched metal and glass forms. There is a colorless inkwell insert in the inkwell and there is no damage to this piece.
